Who are we?
Farris Connie
We are both natives of the City of Stockton and have spent most of our lives here in Stockton. We have six children between us from the ages of seventeen to their mid twenties.
Pastor Farris: I spent much of my pre-teen years going to church and Sunday school but I do not recall publicly accepting Jesus as Savior. In my late teens I fell into a life of sin like so many teens do; experimenting with drugs and alcohol. This progressed to a point where I became bound by those things for a period of time. The seeds of the gospel planted within me, and the prayers of family members produced results in 1984 when I accepted Jesus as Savior. I was saved in The Bible Baptist Church, which is now called ‘The Home Church’ of Stockton. Shortly after salvation, I began searching for ‘all’ that God had for me, and ended up in the Pentecostal movement.
Connie: I was raised attending the Stockton Pentecostal Holiness Church and confessed Jesus as Savior at age seven. After the birth of my first daughter Kristen, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was eighteen years ago, at age twenty-five that God miraculously healed my body. In 2002, God had another opportunity to heal my body of cancer. Praise The Lord, for He is always faithful!!
We both went through the trauma of divorce after over ten years of marriage in both cases. God divinely brought us together and we were married in December of 1996.
While living in Valley Springs, we experienced a powerful touch of God through a visiting evangelist who had experienced what God is doing in the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola, Florida. This touch of God revived some dreams in us both, plus stimulated a hunger for more of God like we had never experienced before.
