What is Salvation?
| Webster says..... |
Main Entry: sal·va·tion Pronunciation: sal-'vA-sh&n Function: noun Etymology: Middle English, from Old French, from Late Latin salvation-, salvatio, from salvare to save -- more at SAVE Date: 13th century 1 a : deliverance from the power and effects of sin b : the agent or means that effects salvation |
As the first definition says, it is the deliverance from the power and effects of sin, sin being error from God's ways. So when we refer to being saved or receiving salvation we are saying that we become free of the power and effects of sin. The Bible teaches us that the power and effect of sin is eternal death and separation from God. Going even further, the Bible repeatedly refers to a place called hell in which there is torment forever. Obviously the power and effect of sin is great against us and eternal destination so why wouldn't we want to be saved. Being saved is even greater that being free from sin because we not only are free from the negative things we receive great positive things also. Those great benefits are eternal life with Christ, healing, and deliverance here on earth. So if you haven't received salvation please read the steps below and receive Jesus as savor today.
Acknowledge you are a sinner and have violated God laws.
Realize that there is a price for the sin that you have committed, even the smallest sin to the greatest sins. That price is hell and eternal punishment.
Jesus was the only one that could pay the price for sin and He did so on the cross. Jesus lived a completely sinless life and was the perfect sacrifice and payment for all sin. A sinful person could not pay the price it had to be the love and perfection of Jesus.
You must accept this free gift of salvation by acknowledging the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus as the perfect ransom for your sin.
You must turn from the sins of your life and make Jesus lord of your life and put Him first in your life.
| Please say this simple prayer... | Dear Jesus, I know I have sin in my life, I know there is a price for sin, I know I can't pay that price but that you did pay the price on the cross, I accept the shedding of your blood on the cross as payment for my sin, I accept the torture and torment that you went through for healing in my body and mind, I accept you as savor and healing in my life. I am saved! |
