Donated Walls!

Most of the time we talk in the church about walls coming down but we needed walls to go up. When we moved into out new location in June of 2003 we nothing but a plain shell with plenty of room but no interior walls for office and classroom space.  I knew and shared with the congregation that though I have done such work and others also in the church had done so, God did not call me to build walls nor did we have the time or money to do so.  I told the church, "God has placed us in this building and He will provide for the walls."  The contractor that had prepared our space gave us our estimate, it was almost $30,000.  We were shocked but put it into the Lords hands.

We were having a service in the second week of July 2003 and a lady that attends some of our special services was there at the meeting.  At the end of the service I went out to the entry way and found her husband waiting for her.  I began to visit with him and told him about how we had temporary partitions and that we were going to build walls when we were able.  He asked how much money did we have for the project and I told him "none." He began to tell me that he has a contractor that does some work for him and they had been talking about doing some charitable work.  In a few days they reviewed the plans and have taken on the task.  God provided almost immediately!!!

Construction began on September 6, 2003.

Matthew 6:25  Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
